Hunter College Computer Science Internship Credit

Earn academic credit for computer science internships through the Hunter College Computer Science Department.

Research Internship
The Hunter College Computer Science Department offers academic credit for students participating in approved external internships. Students can register for internship courses CSCI 181, CSCI 182, and CSCI 183, which vary from one to three credits. To be eligible, students must be declared computer science majors and have successfully completed at least 18 credits within the department. Additionally, the internship role must be technical and related to computer science, and students must have successfully completed CSCI 23500. These internship credits count as general Hunter College credits and cannot be applied toward the computer science major requirements. The department also encourages students to explore opportunities with organizations like the CUNY Institute for Software Design and Development (CISDD) and the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU), which offer paid and unpaid internships. The Hunter College Career Center and Office of Financial Aid also provide resources for internships, jobs, scholarships, and fellowships.
