Graduate Intern, Evidence Project, Reproductive Health Program

A remote part-time graduate internship at the Population Council, focusing on evidence synthesis in reproductive health, including systematic reviews and social media analysis.

Research Internship
The Population Council offers a graduate internship within its Evidence Project, a global initiative focused on strengthening family planning and reproductive health programs through implementation science. This remote, part-time internship (15-19 hours/week) is designed for graduate students in public health or related fields, providing an opportunity to contribute to significant research. Interns will primarily support evidence synthesis activities, such as conducting scoping and systematic reviews related to vaginal product acceptability to inform research and development, particularly for low- and middle-income countries. Responsibilities include preparing review protocols, executing literature searches with explicit criteria, systematically screening literature, performing data extraction using platforms like Covidence, assessing study quality, and synthesizing findings into reports and presentations. Additionally, interns may engage in social media scraping and sentiment analysis to understand public discourse on vaginal contraceptives and related health products. Through this experience, participants will enhance their understanding of literature review and social media research methodologies, while gaining exposure to the current landscape of sexual and reproductive health products. The program emphasizes mentorship from leading researchers and contributes to expanding access to quality, voluntary family planning services worldwide.
