2025 SIAT International Young Scholars Summer School
Summer School
The Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology (SIAT), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), hosts the International Young Scholars Summer School annually, inviting young scientific and technological talents globally. This program, scheduled from June 23rd to June 28th, 2025, offers participants the opportunity to engage in discussions with world-class scientists, explore national-level laboratories, and visit high-tech enterprises. A key feature is the chance to identify potential supervisors and secure provisional acceptance for future doctoral studies at SIAT, alongside experiencing Chinese culture in Shenzhen. SIAT, established in 2006, is a national research institute focused on areas like medical imaging, synthetic biology, integrated circuit materials, and emerging fields such as brain-computer interfaces and intelligent systems, contributing significantly to scientific research and industrial innovation within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Criteria: Nationality/Residency: Foreign nationals or residents of Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, China. Age: Under 30 years old. Academic Performance: Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 for both bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Senior undergraduate students must demonstrate outstanding performance and strong research ability. English Proficiency: Non-native English speakers or those whose previous degree's medium of instruction was not English must provide IELTS score of 6.0 or higher, or TOEFL score of 80 or higher. Priority Consideration: Candidates with relevant research experience, academic paper publications, and those interested in pursuing a PhD degree at SIAT.
