Visiting Research Students Scheme

A research scheme for doctoral students to undertake part of their PhD studies at Queen Mary University of London's School of Law.

Research Stay
The Visiting Research Student Scheme at Queen Mary University of London's School of Law offers doctoral research students the opportunity to undertake part of their doctoral work at the School of Law, even if they are pursuing their studies at another institution. The minimum period of registration for this scheme is two months, with a maximum duration of one year. Applicants should allow up to four weeks for their application to be processed, ideally providing at least three months' notice prior to their intended start date. Fees for the program vary depending on the area of research, with bandings of £0, £100, or £400 per month, which will be communicated upon offer. Successful applicants will be registered as Associate Students and gain access to the same comprehensive range of facilities as standard PhD students. These facilities include access to School of Law resources and activities, participation in School of Law programmes and research seminars, and use of the Queen Mary library (Mile End), IALS library (Russell Square), IP Archive (IALS), electronic resources, and computer facilities, including wireless and hot-desk space. Participants are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, and subsistence, and are not eligible for funding for travel grants, conferences, or studentships.
