Research Internship
The Summer Lab Research Programme (SLR) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen) is an 8-week non-credit program designed for exchange students from global partner institutions. This program provides participants with valuable hands-on research experience within cutting-edge laboratories, guided by distinguished faculty members during the Summer Session, and includes guaranteed on-campus residence. The research opportunities cover a broad spectrum of fields, such as New Energy & Energy Efficiency Management, Big Data & Scientific Data, Modern Biological Information Engineering, Robotics & AI, and Operations Management & Marketing. Participants benefit from one-on-one mentorship from leading experts, allowing them to enhance their research, technical, and analytical skills in a practical environment. The program also facilitates connections with international peers and offers an immersive experience of life in Shenzhen, a rapidly developing city recognized as a global hub for high-tech innovations. It targets undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students nominated by CUHK-Shenzhen's exchange partner institutions.

Criteria: Applicants must meet the specific academic requirements of the labs they wish to apply to. Final admission decisions are made by the labs. For students from institutions where English is not the primary language of instruction, proof of English proficiency is required: a minimum TOEFL score of 530 (paper-based)/ 71 (internet-based) or IELTS 6.0 or equivalent, or an English proficiency letter issued by their partner institution.

Costs & Contact

Stipend: Unpaid
Cost: No tuition fees. Housing fee: CNY 2000 for 8-week on-campus stay. Participants cover their own travel, insurance, study materials, and meals.
