The Health Career Opportunity Program at NYU Langone Health provides students with internships across a wide range of health fields, allowing them to work alongside world-renowned specialists. The program offers opportunities in specialties such as Anesthesiology, Intensive Care Unit, Clinical Nutrition and Food Services, Creative Arts Therapy, Emergency Medicine, Harkness Center for Dance Injuries, Horticultural Therapy, Neurology, Nursing, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation Medicine, Research, Orthopedic Hand Surgery, Social Work and Care Management, Speech
–Language Pathology and Swallowing, Vascular Surgery, and Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling. Interns engage in a variety of activities including observing daily assignments in operating rooms, participating in rounds and meetings, shadowing healthcare professionals, conducting patient interviews, and assisting with patient care. Those placed in research roles support healthcare professionals with data entry, data processing, literature searches, research protocol writing, and basic statistics within a laboratory setting. The program is designed to provide comprehensive exposure to the intricacies of different healthcare careers and clinical environments.

Criteria: Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time of the program. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 is required. Applicants who have not yet completed at least one semester of college must submit their high school transcript. Applicants who have completed at least one semester of college must submit their college transcript.
