The NYSCF Summer Internship Program is a ten-week paid summer enrichment program in New York City designed for high-achieving high school, undergraduate, and graduate students, as well as recent college graduates. It offers participants a unique opportunity to engage in fast-paced stem cell research, gain insight into an entrepreneurial nonprofit research institute, explore career paths in science, and build professional and peer networks. Interns can choose from various tracks, including Data Science, Automation / Software Engineering, Programs Administration, and Laboratory Research. The Data Science track focuses on managing microscopic image acquisition, data handling, and quality analysis of large datasets. The Automation / Software Engineering track supports the development of the NYSCF Global Stem Cell Array®, a robotic system for iPSC derivation and differentiations. The Programs Administration track involves joining administrative teams such as business development, scientific communications, and external affairs. The Laboratory Research track provides hands-on, project-based research experience in the NYSCF Research Institute under the guidance of a scientist. Internships are primarily onsite, with some hybrid opportunities depending on the track. Compensation is provided hourly, with rates varying based on academic standing. Eligibility requires candidates to be currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student who has completed at least one year, or to be a recent college graduate, a US Citizen or Permanent Resident Alien, or a foreign applicant with valid US work authorization, and 18 years or older.
